“Dinner With Doppelgangers – A True Story of Madness and Recovery”.

On Tuesday, April 14th, beginning at 5:30 p.m., The Venue will host a presentation by author, Coleen Well, of her new book, “Dinner With Doppelgangers – A True Story of Madness and Recovery”.

Colleen has a BA in English from Indiana University, an MA in English from Butler University, and an MFA in Creative Writing from Spalding University. An award winning author, Colleen writes about matters close to her heart, such as family, adoption, and animals, and also about social justice issues regarding the elderly, homelessness, and those suffering from mental illness.

Colleen’s newest book, “Dinner With Doppelgangers – A True Story of Madness and Recovery” is the story of her struggle with profound depression and mania, the hallmarks of bipolar disorder. With highs, lows, and hospital visits blurred by medications, the poetic text explores with uncompromising honesty how mental illness can affect family, friends, and self. Colleen tackles this complicated issue with a magnetic grace that easily pulls readers along. Fall inside her madness, and catch a powerful glimpse of life with mental illness.

Colleen is a native of Indiana currently living in Bloomington with her husband, two sons, a daughter, three dogs, and three cats.

Refreshments will be served at The Venue, and our fine selection of paintings, jewelry, ceramics, and artistic gifts will be on display for purchase.
