Artists of the Week: Paul Daily and John Whikehart in Ivy Tech’s “Mass Appeal”

Paul Daily, artistic director of the Ivy Tech Waldron and John Whikehart, Bloomington’s deputy mayor, star in Mass Appeal, a fast-paced, two-man comedy nominated for several Tony Awards, and directed by Ivy Tech’s Jeffery Allen, executive director of the Ivy Tech’s Center for Lifelong Learning.    Paul Daily has been the artistic director of the Ivy Tech John Waldron Arts Center since 2010. He received his BA at Indiana University in Theatre and Drama/Sociology and his MFA in Directing and Theatrical Production.Prior to working at Ivy Tech, Daily was nominated for and named as “Outstanding Lead Actor” for the Planet Connections Theater Festival, for which he performed during the summer of 2010 in New York.   Whikehart made his Bloomington acting debut under Daily’s direction as “Doc” in the Depression era drama, Waiting for Lefty in 2011.  He got to show off his comedic timing and dancing skills as an advertising executive in the pharmaceutical industry farce, “Rx”, a Bloomington Playwright’s Project production starring Paul Daily and Jeffery Allen, who are both professional actors and directors.  There are only two performances,  August 22 & 23, 7:30 PM – Ivy Tech Waldron Firebay – $15/$5 students and seniors For tickets or for more information, visit www.bctboxoffice.com or call 812.323.3020
