Rebecca Lowery Throws Pots at The Venue, a Demonstration at the Venue

On Tuesday, August 26th, beginning at 5:30 p.m. the Venue Fine Art & Gifts will host a demonstration of ceramic technique by Rebecca Lowery.

Rebecca received her BA in Art and spent four years in the ceramics apprenticeship program at Berea College. After graduation, she spent several years in Lexington, Kentucky and then Baltimore, Maryland, where she taught and worked to refine her craft.

Rebecca’s studio is now in Bloomington, where she creates whimsical handmade pottery and sculpture, displayed at art shows and festivals and at The Venue throughout the year. She has taught at The Waldron and also offers private lessons to students and web consulting for other artists.

Rebecca will actually set up her wheel at The Venue, inside or outside, depending on the weather, and actually throw pots. She will explain her technique and let you get your fingers. Her presentation will be great introduction for adults and children. It will be interactive and fun.

Refreshments will be provided and our fine selection of paintings, jewelry, ceramics, and artistic gifts will also be on display for purchase. Free parking may be available in the lot at 4th and Grant.
