News from the Art Sanctuary in Martinsville

Art Exhibits and Events
The wall art sale continues this week at Maxwell’s Gallery Framing. There will also be a discount on all Christmas gift framing.
Saturday, November 2, 6-8pm, is the opening for the Friends of TC Steele Art Show and Sale. The show runs through November 30.
St. Martin’s Craft Fair is Saturday, November 2.
Barrett and Friends Art Review is the gallery show at Art Sanctuary for November. The show opens on Friday, November 8, 6-8pm with 2nd Friday Open Studio Night. The Community Band will present “Rolling Taps” at 7:15 outside on the Art Sanctuary lawn. At 7:30, downstairs, there will be a presentation on winter birds and bird feeder options, and visitors will be invited to make a “natural” ornament to hang outside on Big Blue, the community Christmas tree at AS.
The Artesian Craft Fair at East Middle is Saturday, November 9.
Art Sanctuary’s April 2014 show is “Expressions of Faith”, a new concept for us. We are hoping to have work representing many religions, personal spiritual views, and art forms so maybe my learning about a new and sacred art form is a sign from above. The show prospectus for April will be available on the AS website at http://www.artsanctuaryindiana.com

Groups
Monthly Needle Arts Group meets Tuesday, November 5 at Art Sanctuary, 5-7 pm. All knitters, weavers, quilters, and hookers welcome!

Around the State
Congratulations to local artists Mark Burkett, Steve Dodge, Janice Lindboe, and Jeanne McLeish for having artwork accepted into the Richmond Art Show. This annual show has been going on for over 100 years, has hundreds of entries and is well worth the trip to Richmond Art Museum to see it. Apologies to artists I may have skipped.
