You Know You Want to Learn to Hoop-Fall Session
Find your Flow, Get Fit and Have Fun with Paula, founder of the Hudsucker Posse Hoop Dancers in this 6 week Early Fall Session. Classes are Monday nights at 7 pm at Panache Dance Studio. This is an all levels class for beginners or intermediate hoop dancers. Class will focus on guided hoop moving meditation techniques as well as core workout skills and a few fancy hoop tricks. Wear close fitting clothing ( like yoga wear) and bring water you will get a great cardio workout in my class! Studies prove that taking my class will make you a better hooper! Class cost is $90 for 6 weeks and includes the use of a hoop for class time. Students also are eligible for discounts on hoops if they would like to purchase their own. Register now August 12th at 7:00 p.m. until September 16th at 8:00 p.m. at Panache Studio.

Fuller Projects 2013 Call for Submissions 

The Fuller Projects is a venue with the primary mission of providing emerging contemporary artists with the opportunity to propose, create and present new work. Established in 2002 by Indiana University School of Fine Arts students, The Fuller Projects encourages dialogue on art within the university, the community of Bloomington, IN and beyond.

Proposals for the Fall 2013 Semester are due:

Due: Friday, August 30, 2013. Do you have an idea for an installation or show? Does your project fall outside of your current body of work? Is it experimental, collaborative, a bit risky, non-material or require public interaction? An exhibition in The Fuller Projects is your chance to try something entirely new! To be considered for a Fuller show, please submit the following to
•  An exhibition proposal statement
•  5-10 images of work
•  1-page resume
•  Artist Statement(s)

Volunteer Orientation at Buskirk-Chumley Theater, Aug. 18 and September 22, 23
Volunteer ushers at the Buskirk-Chumley Theater see the arts in action! From a family-oriented play to the Lotus World Music Festival,  you will have up to 200 ushering opportunities a year. If you volunteer two or more times in a month, you will receive a complimentary ticket for a show the following month at this beautifully restored performance venue. Tarot 101 Workshop at Athena
Join the folks at Athena for the “Getting To Know Your Deck” Tarot 101 Workshop with Daun! The workshop will take place at Athena on Thursday August 22nd, 7pm-9pm, $10. No tarot experience required. They will explore ways to bond with your deck, help you understand the suits, and learn simple beginner spreads. The exercises are all inclusive, so your basic Rider Waite is welcome as well as your handmade punk abstract anarchist deck or oracle cards! This community workshop will take place at Athena downtown after store hours. Please bring a snack or drink to share. Looking forward to seeing you! Daun is the resident tarot reader at Athena. Her deck of choice is the Thoth Tarot. This is the first in a series of workshops on tarot, divination, and spirituality that will be held at Athena on full moon week Thursdays, 7-9pm!
