Wanted – Nonprofit Partners – Fall 2013
The Courses
SPEA – V558: Fund Development for Nonprofits – Graduate courses: Kirsten A. Grønbjerg; Eileen F. Savage ( eisavage@indiana.edu )
SPEA – V458: Fund Development for Nonprofits – Undergraduate course: Lori Garraghty
The Project
For the graduate course (V558), teams of students will be required to complete eight assignments in collaboration with an established nonprofit or government organization. By the end of the semester, the participating organization will have a comprehensive analysis and portfolio for its fund development program. For the undergraduate course (V458), student teams will be required to complete six assignments.
In return, the participating organization must be willing to cooperate with the students, make relevant information available in a timely manner so that the students can carry out the assignments (recognizing that some information may be sensitive and must be kept confidential, if shared), and at the end of the course, complete an evaluation of the portfolio projects that the students develop.
Because we allow students to choose for themselves which organization they wish to work with, we cannot guarantee that we will be able to help all organizations that volunteer. Nor can we guarantee the quality of the portfolio work, although we will do our best to ensure that it meets minimum standards.
