Arts Commission announces diversity colloquium to address Community Change through the Arts

(Indianapolis, Indiana) – The Indiana Arts Commission (IAC) announced it will partner with the Ohio Arts Council and Michigan Council for Arts and Cultural Affairs to present a two-day colloquium on strategies for building diversity in arts organizations.

The colloquium, “Embracing Community Change through the Arts”, will be presented April 18 – 19, 2013 at the University of Notre Dame’s DeBartolo Performing Arts Center.

The goal of the colloquium is to give attendees a sense of how their communities are changing and provide tools to take actionable steps to embrace those changes together.

Presenters, and keynote speakers are still in the confirmation stage. Key agenda topics of discussion in break-out sessions will include: cultural diversity; rural diversity; access and diversity; leadership development; decision making and programming; and community relevancy and involvement.

Registration fee is $50 per person or $125 per team of three. Registration will open in late February. Updates and more information will be posted on the IAC website as it becomes available.

The Indiana Arts Commission is dedicated to the vision of the arts everywhere, every day, for everyone in Indiana.
