On this Friday, September 14th, beginning at 5:30pm, The Venue will host a reception for the Exhibition of watercolor paintings by Jeanne Ellen Dutton.

Jeanne, a native of Lafayette, Indiana is an alumna of Purdue University. Upon retiring in 1997 from Purdue’s School of Agriculture, Jeanne took a class from well-known watercolorist Rena Brouwer which rekindled Jeanne’s interest in art.

After moving to Indianapolis the following year, Jeanne studied with the nationally recognized artist Leah S.Traugott at the Indianapolis Art Center, where she also served as a class monitor and temporary editor of the “IAC Student Newsletter.”

Now a Bloomington resident, Jeanne teaches three introductory watercolor classes at Ivy Tech Bloomington’s Center for Lifelong Learning. She also serves as the President of The Bloomington Watercolor Society and co-chair of “We Paint…the Springs”, an upcoming watercolor weekend conference in French Lick Indiana. In this exhibition of Jeanne’s most recent watercolors, she demonstrates both her extraordinary technical skills and her esthetic sensitivity, in both still life’s and gardenscapes. The exhibit includes a variety in subject matter and size, all pleasing to the eye.

The Venues complete collection of Fine Art and Gifts will also be on display for viewing and purchase. Refreshments will be provided and free parking will be available in the lot on the corner of 4th and Grant.

This show will run at the Venue until September 20th.
