Help Create Flower Sculptures First Friday Evening at WonderLab

The community is invited to help metalsmith artist Kelly Novak create whimsical 3D flower sculptures during First Friday Evening Science of Art: Community Art Project from 5:00 pm to 8:30 pm on September 7 at the WonderLab Museum of Science, Health and Technology in Bloomington. Activities for all ages include making blossoms with bicycle wheels and recycled cloth materials, painting metal stems, and watching as the sculptures are “planted” in the garden. Visitors also can make their own garden sculptures to take home.

WonderLab’s First Friday Evening Science of Art series offers adults and children the opportunity to explore the  connections between art and science. General admission for visitors on  Friday night is discounted to $3.50 per person. Activities are recommended for all ages and are included with admission. A small-plate meal, prepared by Bloomingfoods Deli, will be available to  purchase on-site at the museum.

First Friday Evening Science of Art: Community Art Project is made possible by grant support from the  BEAD Arts Partner Grant Program and the City of Bloomington Arts  Commission.
