Reminder: Creative Placemaking Panel with NEA Chairman Rocco Landesman July 17

Join the Indiana Arts Commission in Munster, Indiana, for a FREE Creative Placemaking panel discussion and public reception, and help welcome the Indiana state National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) Chairman, Rocco Landesman!

The panel discussion will be hosted by South Shore Arts and Theatre at the Center (1040 Ridge Road, Munster) on Tuesday, July 17, 2012, from 4:00 – 5:00 p.m. (CDT) with a reception immediately following.

During the panel, learn how communities in Indiana have successfully created vibrant communities by embracing the arts as part of their community development and civic engagement efforts through partnerships between artists, arts organizations and cultural institutions. Joining Landesman on the panel will be political, non-profit and tourism leaders from around the state.  After the discussion, join us for light refreshments as we send off Chairman Landesman with warm regards from Indiana.

Landesman’s visit to Indiana is part of his Art Works tour. He will begin his day in South Bend, visiting local cultural program providers and representatives from direct NEA grantees. Landesman is then expected to visit Gary, Indiana and will conclude his day with the public Creative Placemaking panel in Munster.
