On Tuesday, July 17th, beginning at 5:30pm, The Venue Fine Art & Gifts will host a presentation by Mick Renneisen, Director, City of Bloomington Parks & Recreation, focusing on the artistic and esthetic development of the Switchyard Park, the new City Park located between Grimes Lane and Winslow Road, on the B-Line Trail, formerly a railroad switchyard.

Mick has been an employee of the Bloomington Parks and Recreation Department since 1981 and was named Director in 1996. He is responsible for administration of the Bloomington Parks and Recreation Department consisting of 55 full time employees, over 300 seasonal employees, 41 parks and 11 facilities and a budget of $9 million dollars. Under his leadership the Bloomington Parks & Recreation Department has received many awards and is one of only 27th departments nationally to achieve accreditation from CAPRA and NRPA.

From Mick you will get the most current information and planning for the development of the Switchyard Park, and have the opportunity to ask your questions and express your ideas and concerns, at the highest decision-making level. “Speak now or forever hold your peace.”

The Venue will provide refreshments and our complete collection of Fine Art and Gifts will also be on display for viewing and purchase. Parking is available in the lot on the corner of 4th and Grant.
