WonderLab to Host Area’s National Ham Radio Kids’ Day

The WonderLab Museum is a local host site for the semiannual National Ham Radio Kids’ Day. Come to WonderLab to make a new friend via this original wireless communication device. Special activities from 1:00 pm – 4:30 pm include talking with other kids across the country using short-wave radio technology, filling out a “QSL” postcard to mail to your new friend as confirmation of your short-wave radio chat, trying out Morse Code communication, and going on a scavenger hunt to locate radio-related exhibits throughout WonderLab. In addition, the museum will offer a workshop, Build Your Own Radio, from 2:00 pm – 3:00 pm. Participants will learn about the physics of radio waves that power cell phones and other wireless electronics as they make a working FM radio to take home. For more info, click here.
