News from NASAA: NASAA Web Seminar: L3Cs and State Arts Agencies

A new entity, the L3C (low-profit limited liability company), is making inroads into a variety of areas usually reserved for nonprofit organizations. NASAA’s next web seminar will take a look at what L3Cs are and how they are evolving. Guest speakers will include:
• Bob Lang, L3C creator and founder, Americans for Community Development
• Michael Martin, Attorney at Law, Martin & Stilwell, LLP
• R. Bernard Hall, Jr., Arts administration graduate student, Savannah College of Art & Design
The one-hour session will introduce you to the L3C business model and discuss how state agencies can interact with L3C organizations. Time will be included for audience Q&A. More details are provided below.

The seminar takes place on Tuesday, June 26, from 3:00-4:00 p.m. Eastern. Please plan to log on a few minutes early so that we can begin promptly.

Registration is free. State arts agency council and staff members should register using our web seminar registration form. If you have any questions about registration, please contact Eric Giles and include your name, title, agency name and phone number in your e-mail.

Yes! NASAA wants to help make it easy for you to share this information with your constituents and partners. They have reserved up to two guest logins per state for this session. Those guest logins can be used by specific individuals your agency would like to invite, or for group viewings that you or a partner would like to host. Contact Eric Giles for guest invitation instructions.
To help  manage session costs (which allows NASAA to keep providing seminars to state arts agencies without charging registration fees!), please do not otherwise forward this invitation to your mailing list or constituent networks.
You may invite as many additional people as you wish to join you in viewing the session at your office or another central location. NASAA web seminars offer a great occasion for state arts agencies and their partners to get together for team learning and group discussion. If you plan to participate in the session as a group, please indicate this on your seminar registration form.
