Bloomington Open Studio Tour 2012

Visit over 50 local artists in their studios and workspaces during the first annual Bloomington Open Studios Tour, Saturday and Sunday June 2 and 3. 10:00 AM to 4:00pm.

Rogers Street Firehouse Update

Letterpress Prints on Exhibit in City Hall Atrium
During the month of May, BEAD showcases artworks created by printmaker Kim Ransdell in the Atrium of City Hall. Kim Ransdell is a printmaker, painter, artist’s model, and personal assistant residing in Bloomington, Indiana since 1997. Currently Kim’s private letterpress print shop is at the Trained Eye Art Center located at 615 N. Fairview while the rest of her printing equipment is on loan to the Bloomington Print Collective to be shared with the public. Kim’s letterpress prints will be on exhibit through the end of May.

Bloomington Has Brains!
The Brain Extravaganza is a community art event created by Dr. Jill Bolte Taylor to raise awareness, appreciation and education among the amazing human brain. The 22 fiberglass brain sculptures are decorated by local and regional artists and positioned around Bloomington for everyone to enjoy (at least 5 in the BEAD district!). See these enormous brains through October 15. More information at www.jbtbrains.org.

Creative Aging Festival: Best Practices to Engage Older Adults
