Inside the Curator’s World: Behind the Scenes at the IU Art Museum

Discover the inner workings of how art is acquired and exhibitions come about when enroll in this Continued Studies course. The first session will examine the role of a curator and how it has changed over time. At our second class, the topic will focus on how a curator organizes an exhibition, from conception to installation. Finally, we’ll discuss how curators research and acquire artworks for a museum’s collection. Each class will include a visit to the gallery and/or examination of acquired objects not currently on display. Class sessions are on Wednesdays from 11 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. between the dates of March 28 – April 11. Class size is limited to 15 people–enroll now! To register, click on IU Continuing Studies.
