Call for Artists: The Bloomington Open Studios Tour 2012 June 2 and 3 10AM-4PM

Participating artists in an Open Studio Tour have an opportunity to show and sell their work, learn more about collectors, buyers and viewers, and engage with the community in a direct, yet informal setting. Visitors have a unique opportunity to see art displayed on site where it is made, indoors and out, view work-in-progress, meet the artists and learn about their medium and processes. The public will be provided with a brochure that includes a map that locates all participating artists’ workspaces throughout the city and county. Visitors create their own self-tour over the two days. We are happy to announce that artists who lack publicly accessible studio space may also participate by presenting their work at a large alternative space that has been arranged especially for the Tour.
Interested artists should complete a full application and will be contacted soon after the application deadline to discuss logistics. Open Studio events are extremely popular and successful events in other cities.  The time is right for Bloomington! Participant fee is $50 for each artist, with a cap of $200 for any one location on the map. Artists are encouraged to share spaces. The fee pays for yard banners for each location, the printing of the brochure/map, and advertising, marketing and publicity in and outside of Bloomington. We are currently collaborating with the Bloomington Visitors Bureau, BEAD, the GalleryWalk group and other city organizations to promote and enrich the event. Please participate! Email us with any questions you may have at openstudios@bloomingtonvague.com To fill out your free online application and learn more about the event, please go to: http://bloomingtonvague.com  Deadline for applications is April 1.
