Highlights from the ArtsWORK Indiana Website February 2012

Overcoming the Artist’s Need for Approval

The need for approval hinders many creative people from sharing their
talents with the world and robs them of boldness. It’s our latest View
from the Field article, by Jody Michele Powers.

People in the Arts
The ArtsWORK website profiles a few of the many accomplished
individuals who work in diverse fields of the arts and also have a
disability. Meet drama teaching artist Jaehn Clare, blues musician
Henry Butler, writer David Roche, the band FLAME, and more.
February Meetings in Bloomington and Muncie
South Central ArtsWORK Indiana and The Creativity Network in Muncie
will hold meetings this month. There will be no Indianapolis ArtsWORK
Indiana gathering due to strategic planning meetings currently underway.

Photographing Artwork
How to best capture that painting or sculpture? Bloomington photographer
Allan Yates provided detailed information for ArtsWORK on taking
photographs of 2 and 3 dimensional art.

Sponsoring Organizations
The ArtsWORK Indiana website has received support from the National Endowment for the Arts,
the National Arts and Disability Center at the University of California Los Angeles,
the Indiana Institute on Disability and Community (IIDC), and the Indiana Arts Commission (IAC).
The IAC, IIDC, and VSA Indiana are ArtsWORK Indiana’s statewide partner organizations.
For people working or exploring employment in the arts… If you have a disability, or if you don’t!
